Default 2008 EZGO Backfires when Decellerating

2008 EZGO 295cc Gas backfired during decelleration with pedal at halfway point. Had a friend install a new carb. Now have the same problem only worse. Also, Intermittantly, with pedal to the floor, no acelleration until I pull on the choke. Then runs. Runs Good at high speed until decellerating, then backfires, but not all the time. I keep thinking its the choke plate wasn't in the correct position with the old carb, now have the same problem with the new one. I should mention, it didn't backfire at all until I took the cart to have the belts replaced (Not the Timing Belt) and on the way home, began the intermittant backfiring a few times. Don't think the belts have anything to do with it. I saw the backfire from the tailpipe, but don't know if it has done so in the carb. Sure could use some help. Thanks!!! Ed

Be sure the carb & govenor linkages are adjusted correctly;watch the throttle linkage on carb butterfly as you slowly depress the accelerator pedal (with ignition off) and be sure that the butterfly does not move at all before you hear the micro-switch click.

Is there a manual or something that will tell me how to adjust the govenor and carb linkages so they are working right?
