98 Workhorse carb jetting

I recently finished a build on my lifted 98 Workhorse with the 350 Robins in it. I put a 295 head on it that I had decked .010. Put a comet drive clutch and a 28 degree driven clutch with an inch shorter belt.

I cleaned the carb while I had it off. It would appear that I am in need of a larger pilot screw it bogs down in low RPM with some popping unless I hold the choke on. I knocked the little nub off the mixture screw so I could turn it out more than the allowed 1/2 turn. It gets better and runs it's best with the mixture screw completely removed but it still bogs down until it gets up into the higher RPMs then runs great.

Question is where can I get a bigger pilot jet? Who makes the carb?

If that jet is removable, you might check out a machine shop or speed shop. he *might* have the teeny little drills to use for making the main jet a hair bigger. If not him, perhaps a jeweler. don't go more than a few thousandths of an inch at a time.If you do happen to go too much though you can solder the entire jet closed and drill the solder to a smaller ID.

I'm thinking its the pilot not the main. It runs fine at higher RPM. What confuses me is it's the stock intake and the stock exhaust same as it was prior to the head swap. Not sure where the extra flow is coming from.....

Ok, same deal though. If you can get that jet out you can probably have it enlarged. I'm not saying this will fix it, just that you ought to be able to get it done. If worse comes to worst, you can pick up a set of micro drill bits and do it yourself on a drill press. They're salty though for doing just one jet.

Here's another option though. Who makes the carb?This same carb might be on bigger engines and in those applications might have the jet you want in which case you could order it for probably a few bucks and if it runs like crap you can at least switch it back.
