Default EzGo Driven clutch problem

Hello, I am new to BGW.

First off, let me say I am not mechanically inclined when it comes to golf carts.

I have mid 80's EzGo golf cart that was given to me, and when received it had no cover on the Driven Clutch or bolt holding it in place. It still worked fine for driving around the camp (which is all I use it for) but was a little noisy. So finally the Driven Clutch failed I think. So I went to a local golf coarse and picked up a used Driven Clutch and replaced it. It worked great for a day or two, made no noise and drove a lot smoother.

So as I was driving I heard some bang and the cart stopped on me. The bolt from the Driven Clutch fell off and went missing, which I couldn't find anywhere, and the Driven Clutch basically swallowed the belt.

What I want to know, is did I just get another bad Driven Clutch, or is there something I can do to tighten the clutch so it doesn't open all the way where the belt falls in?

I hope this is an easy fix, as I don't want to spend $200 on a new clutch.

Thank you in advance for any help...

It may help to know the year, but I'd say you either need a new belt, or need a new clutch spring. Sounds like it may have lost tension. I took my clutch off and stretched it. It seems to work just fine.
