2001 TXT 295, no low end power
Hello, I tuned my cart ( not up I guess ), this spring.New drive & alternator belt, plugs & wires, fuel & oil & air filter. Top speed is the same, but now hard to start & very slow to accelerate. Any ideas???

Re: 2001 TXT 295, no low end power
I put the old spark plugs back in, but that did not help. I could put the old wires in next. Could it be the carb?

Re: 2001 TXT 295, no low end power
Engine not starting well, need to push the pedal way down & then like taking off in 5th gear, sluggish & slow. Once it is moving, not too bad. It does run on both cylinders, ( pulled wires off ), but feels like one

Checked the valve adjustment lately?
Does it make a difference if you pull the choke slightly when accelerating? |

Have you checked the clutches to make sure they are moving correctly and +1 on the valve adjustment

No the plug wires. Going to check the compression tomorrow, bought a new gauge. 140psi or more is good?

ams, definitely sounds like carb, would take carb off and spray out every orifice that it has and throw it back on and see what happens, if it has a jet screw should start out at 2 turns out, and yes 140 psi is good, below 125 psi you may have to think about new rings, would also check the gas filter and feed tube in the tank, have had them clog up with gunk

Re: 2001 TXT 295, no low end power
Checked compression !!!!80psi!!!!cold
I switched to 0-30 synthetic, that must have let the low compression appear? I guess I will put some 30 in & check it again. |
