Backfire - Same old Story
1997 EZ-GO 295 Robins , New Carb. Fuel pump , It's been running Good but 2 days ago my Grand-Kids was driving it around in the back yard & it went to backfiring out the muffler , Yesterday it started even more .
Will only do this at slow speed or when you give it more gas. Adjusted the valves to .004 when motor was hot & played with the carb. a little , also checked the gap on the new plugs . One plug was Dry but One was still Wet ( Firing Problem ) ? I'm thinking it has something to do with the carb. but I don't Know Tried to get to the Timing belt but to do that I'll have to pull the clutch which means pulling the engine because I don't have enough room to get the Clutch Off. Help |

Re: Backfire - Same old Story
Make sure the throttle plate is closing all the way. Also, make sure the ignition comes on just prior to the throttle plate opening. You can adjust the throttle linkage to make this happen.

Re: Backfire - Same old Story
Gonna give that a try , but can't understand why it would just start doing All the Backfiring , Ever tank of Gas is treated with Star-Tron.
I can fix a Sparky in my Sleep , But this Gasser is making me loose Sleep. |

Re: Backfire - Same old Story
Only other thing is the Wet Plug , Checked Compression on the wet plug Cylinder & it's running 147 , I guess I'll have to Pull the engine ,Remove the Clutch & check the Timing .
