Ezgo marathon project - complete novice!!!

Hi, this is only my second post...

I'm completely new to this but after about 2 months if reading through these forums I decided to bite the bullet and have a go myself.

Over here in England it's almost unheard and unseen, a customised golf buggy, so I thought I'd try and start a new trend.

I found my buggy of choice on eBay, from a guy who has owned it from new just to go round his garden on. It's immaculate and only been used about 3-4 times a year from new.

So this is what I have planned...

Strip down to chassis and sandblast and powder coat...

A lift, some 14" alloys, roof removal, custom sporty windscreen, full body manipulation with repaint with ghost flames in block metal flake orange and Black background. Re trim the seats, drop and customise back rests, custom dash, stereo install etc. Custom/fabricate front and rear light installs.

I'm hoping to fit in a fridge/cool box somewhere, and upgrade the engine... I'd like some advice on this front as I've seen a Honda 19hp generator engine that I like the look of, I just wonder who has changed the engine and how difficult it is to get right?

Ill keep everyone posted as I progress and would appreciate any tips as I go along.

I know it's going to be a time consuming project and I'm estimating around 3-6 months dependant on time I can get away with working on it - the wife and young children tend to be quite demanding! Lol

Im having to order all of my parts from the US as noone here sells customised parts, which is very frustrating and expensive to ship over.

Any comments etc much appreciated.

Could someone tell me where i can get fender flares from? I can't seem to find any anywhere?

So im 6 weeks into my build, and have so far done a fair bit, not as much as I would have liked though.

Please see pics below.

Again....any comments or tips welcome.

Heres a few more....

so far, we are have done:

roof off,
all body panels flatted ready for paint.
TXT sport front cowl fitted.
TXT dash customised, re plastic welded, fibreglass and ally frame.
Custom chequerplate front, and side sills.

Next.....
Jakes lift kit, tyres to go on the 12" alloys I have sitting in the office.
Make new arm rests,
fabricate new seat back frame to accomodate txt rear seat back.
ful re trim.
full re paint in Shimrim purple with spectracoat flake.

I really like the chequerplate on the cart! Nice touch. I was trying to think about what to do with my cart and didn't want to go with diamond plate, but that checkerplate looks great!

Looks great so far! Im looking forward to seeing it complete at the end. How hard was it to fit a TXT front onto it?
