First build up
Hey guys, long time lurker and I finally decided to post. I just basically started my first cart project, a 2000 TXT gasser in pretty much stock form. This is not my first cart, I had a 2001 sparky series cart but it was stock with some wheels on it. I decided to go a little bigger on this one, I came across the 2000 with the head freshly rebuilt and the motor checked so it runs decent for a 9hp. I just ordered a set of 23" VX tires on 12" Lockout wheels and a Jakes 6" spindle lift. I want to use this cart for a few things but want to be able to hopefully still take it on the golf course. After much reading on here I also ordered a 1" shorter belt to help with torque and will probably get a clutch tuning kit for it as well. The current body is silver but in rough shape so I picked up a used white body for a dealer in a lot better shape for $50, it will be getting a coat of Predator (lime green) Monstaliner. I also ordered a black top and will order seat covers in black and lime to try and match the theme. The cart has a back seat on it at the moment but it will be removed and the bag holder reinstalled so I can actually play golf lol. I know the course pro so I am hoping the VX tires will be mild enough for course use but I didnt want a true street tread tire. The lift, wheels, and tires should be here by Friday and I cant wait to see how it looks with those installed. I will be sure and put up some pics when it gets a little further in the build.

Re: First build up
I will be sure and post some pics up. The wheels and tires should be here today and everything to finish the main part of the project will be arriving between now and about Tuesday.
On another note, the debate about large all terrain type tires on golf courses rarely get a true answer. I can say that 23" Vision VX tires are 100% approved by the course superintendent in Elk City, Ok. The funny part is that I am the first guy in 13 years to ever ask him BEFORE taking them on the course. |

Re: First build up
Here is what I'm starting with. Nothing special yet.
I do have the tan top but the bolt hole are broken out so it had to come off for the trip home. The new black top should be here any day now. |

Re: First build up
Looks decent. For starting out. I would lift it cause I'm tall. But not much, I'm :) poor. And it don't look half bad.
Good find. |
