Default Oil injection question

What kind of oil do I use in an 86 marathon with the 224 Robin 2stroke with oil injection??? Back in the day when I rode snowmobiles thee was a special oil for use in the oil injected sleds..

What do theses carts use???? Special oil or the same 2 cycle oil used in outboards and other 2 cycle engines???? I have not seen any 2 cycle oils that mention oil injection on the packaging...

Thanks
Andy

They recommend that you use the ezgo oils but then they all do that. I use a good 2 cycle oil that you can get almost anyplace and see no reason not to continue as it comes in many brands.

Just plain old 2 cycle oil like you would mix with gas for a chain saw???? No special formula for the injection system????

Nope. Standard green ashless 2-stroke juice is all you need. Or blue, if it comes in a bottle that says it's for a marine outboard. Doesn't matter.

Oil "Injection" describes the method of oil delivery only. All it meant was that you didn't have to pre-mix your oil and gas together before pouring it into the tank. One tank for oil, and one tank for fuel. The cart did the mixing by using a gear-driven pump that would spray a small amount of oil into a hole atop the intake manifold.

Right now, however, that oil injection pump is nothing more than a ticking time bomb. At 30 years old, the tiny moving bits that pump oil to the intake are going to fail soon. And when they do, your engine will go oil-dry and seize in short order.

So do what the rest of us do, and pull out the oil pump. Just mix one ounce of "ring-a-ding-ding" oil into each gallon of gas you intend to feed your cart (ratio = 128:1... YES REALLY).

I recommend taking the oil injection off and mixing your gas and oil in a gas can at 128:1 or 100:1 (1.5 oz to 1 gal) if your governor is disconnected.
