1981 Marathon Running Issues
My 1981 Marathon that use to run fine about a week or 2 ago. Now for some reason it sounds as if it has a massive air leak when the gas is pressed and will not engage the belt that turns the rear wheels. Every now and then it will backfire as well.
Any help to what it might and the potential fix would be greatly appreciated. |

Sounds like a seals blown. Try a compression check if you have the means.

Seals or dead piston with shot rings or worse. Check for spark plug being tight and tighten head bolts as it could be a blown head gasket. That's were I would start.
