Honda 400ex motor swap
I have a complete and running 2004 Honda TRX400ex that I want to take the motor out of and put into my 2003 EZGO. Where do I start and what's the best choice for a rear end? Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

IRS with a chain set to a box. Something like this edge buggy, but think smaller shocks. You can also use a rear out of an irs atv. One just sold on ebay for 100 bucks that would have been perfect.

Re: Honda 400ex motor swap
Hell yea! But my biggest issue is that the 400ex doesn't have reverse. I'm trying to figure out a way to keep my ezgo rear end since that's that's where the forward/reverse is. Would it be possible to get a sprocket machined to fit the splined shaft that the ezgo rear clutch fits on?

I'm not well versed on the rears. I'd think you may have very low gears as a live axle is 1:1. Might work.... Others on here would know.

Re: Honda 400ex motor swap
Thinkin I'm just gonna use the swing arm and axle out of the 400ex and just not have reverse.
