Golf cart will start but wont move
My 1988 Ezgo will start up but when you try to drive it wont go anywhere. Also when its in forward or reverse you can still move it as if it was in neutral. Any ideas what it could be? Any way to tighten the drive belt? Or what?

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
Does the motor rev up and the drive/driven clutches turn when you try to drive it?

Check to see if you've spun an axle;have someone watch each of the rear wheels as you raise the rpms with it in gear & if one of the axles spin inside the hub that's the problem, please be careful & perform this test in a safe manner

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
The drive clutch turns when I push the gas down. I turned the other pulley (cant think of the name of the belt pulley off the top of my head. Where the clutch goes to turn the wheels.) And that'll move the cart if I turn it by hand. I don't know if the belts not turning the other pulley. I'm guessing that the belt it either worn out or needs tighten. I had just put a lift kit on it. Would that effect it in anyway?

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
As the motor revs up, the drive clutch should close up and the belt should rise up the angle of the two sides(sheaves). When that happens, the secondary clutch(mounted to the rearend) should open up and the belt should travel down the angle of the sheaves.

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
Take the belt off. The front(primary) clutch should be spring loaded open, and the back(secondary) should be spring loaded closed.

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
Is the clutch bent, or the shaft it goes onto? A small bit of runout won't keep it from driving. Remove the belt and check for the spring loading.

Re: Golf cart will start but wont move
The clutch itself is bent
