Need new battery
I have a 79 gas EZGO than needs a new battery. Will a garden tractor battery work OK?

Re: Need new battery
No answer yet so I'll answer my own question of how it worked for me. I have a 2 yr. old garden tractor battery from my 20HP Snapper zero turn. The battery works the lawnmower good although it is 2 years old. I put it in the golf cart and it works but sluggish. If it doesn't start right off it will run down after a few tries. It was especially hard to turn it over in reverse, had to make several attempts for it to start turning the motor. I bought a new group 24 600 CCA battery.#@%$#&% $97.00. All the difference in the world. Spins it over very fast. SOOO is my lawnmower on it's last leg? It does start the mower good. Does the little golf cart engine of 1/2 the HP have more compression and take more umph to start?

Re: Need new battery
Lawn mower has a gear reduction system for starting and not a large belt system that takes more umpth to get going. My thoughts on it anyway.

Re: Need new battery
Mower also has a compression release at low rpm
