Re: golf cart radio
here are the pics of old radio first the rest are of my adapter to mount
radio in where the old ball backing plate was and the rest are of new radio you just have to cut out the ball holder to fit a 1din radio mount if anyone has any question or want more pics just ask |

Re: golf cart radio
I was about to order one but the weatherproof comment got me thinking. Seems it would be weatherproof if for a golf cart. I might need it to be it my situation, are you sure it is not? Is it shorter than a marine radio?

Re: golf cart radio
this radio is just a car radio but if you think that is really going to get a lot of rain or snow on it i don't think it would hold up
as far as i remember the only difference between a marine radio and a auto radio is that they put a coating on the board so that is is more shock resistance google this at clarion it has all the specs. Clarion FZ150 USB-SD-MP3 Digital Dimensions (W × H × D) (Inches) 7-1/8 (W) × 2 (H) × 3-1/4 (D) |

Re: golf cart radio
You could also do what I did:
Instead of a radio I just use an amplifier that's hidden out of the weather that's connected to one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/VicTsing-Portable-Bluetooth-Streaming-Receiver/dp/B00GX71HLA/ref=sr_1_53?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1391639531&sr=1-53&keywords=bluetooth+adapter
I power the little bluetooth gadget from a cigarette lighter plug to USB charging adapter for in-car cell-phone charging, hidden out of the weather. A 10k logarithmic mounted in the dash is used for volume control. This way I can stream Pandora, Itunes, MP3s and Itunes Radio wireless from my smartphone to the amplifier in the golf cart and I don't need an old "steam" radio. Everything except the dash volume knob and power switch for the amps is hidden. |

Re: golf cart radio
Nice pix, thanx for sharing. Now a tip: Get rid of the wire nuts. They won't survive the vibrations of a moving vehicle. They WILL lead to problems.
