Default Clutch delima !!

I have a gas EZ-GO, 1998. Runs great, but seems to hang up in "1st" gear sometimes. Other times it will not down shift out of "4th" gear when starting up a hill. I have replaced the belt, and even put on a new drive clutch- front clutch. Before I continue with the back- driven clutch, can anyone help?. I have noticed that if I "stomp it" on take off- it will shift on out. If I ease off ,it seems to hang up in "1st". If I let off the gas going down hill, it will down shift and hang. Any Ideas are appreciated.

The driven clutch controls the pace at which your cvt shifts, sounds like your is sticking

Thank you, I was afraid of that. It looks like I will have to take the body off to be able to pull the driven clutch. I don't think I can get a socket wrench back there to pull it.

I have read other threads about the "buttons" in the driven clutch needing to be checked and the need to use graphite or some other dry lubricant. Can you purchase the buttons? Does anyone have any other ideas for me as I remove and inspect the driven clutch? This website is extremely helpful !!

You can replace the buttons and cams in the driven clutch.
THere is a little info about this in the sticky thread (shorter belts and 28deg clutch)
