you may be ok with the top end. Can you move the crank at all? Take the belt off the and grad the clutch and see if you can move it up or down, if you can move it, rebuild it all.

That is low and should be rebuilt or check head bolts for tightness. When you get in the area of 50#s compression you are going to get a no start or bad start low power runner. Should be around 110 to 125#s

If you keep spraying ether in it you will need more than just top end

I think you still have a problem. I think anything 100 or below, is still a decent leak. You change the crank seals?

Crank seals will not effect compression only performance with fuel delivery.
Did you put a new head gasket on and tighten to specs? You will also want to re-check them after it is run a while.
You say top end rebuild, is that with new jug also? If you just replaced piston with stock rings and not over sized you may be a bit off with compression.

Not on head gasket. Did you have to install the rings or did they come on the piston? if you installed them, did you put them on right? There is a top and a bottom to the rings and lined up with pins. If all is ok on that end, run the rig a while and see if they seat up and maybe a bit better compression. Did you use a compression tester that screwed into the plug hole or a hold on type? Screw on will give a better and proper testing. If you are getting good power with the rebuild then you would be ok also.
