2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
Thinking about buying a 2004 EZGO with 14hp 6" lift and 23" tires, owner said it will do 27 to 29 mph now and doesn't loose speed going up hill(will still do over 20mph) and you could put some kind of clips/spacers on the cart and it would go 35+, I had a gas one years ago that wouldn't do over 15, so any truth to this, thanks

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
Everyone "thinks" their carts are faster than they really are. Stock rear end carts are 20 mph, at best. EZGO doesn't have a 14 hp engine, so I can't tell you where that is coming from. Clips / spacer to make 35 - Most big blocks can't reach that speed? This guy's full of baloney.

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
Thanks for the help, I have an electric now, and I knew it wouldn't go anywhere near 29 mph, better stay away, just asking though the guys cart is about 5 1/2 hours away(1 way):thumbup, so thanks for the info, would have been unhappy if I would have drove that far for it.

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
Do you know what model it is? He may be confused about the hp, my 16hp st480 would run 29mph stock. Now that it has the bigger tires it will go over 35mph. well at least thats what my gps tells me, I guess there's a chance my little part of this earth spins faster than everyone elses. I also have other stock carts that run around 24mph, I have checked these with speedo's, gps's, and radar gun, maybe I lucked out and got the few "good" carts from ezgo.

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
just got off the phone with him and he assures me it will run 27 to 29 mph, he assumed it was a 14hp but is going to check and call me back, it is a 2004 ezgo low low hoursm lifted, cd player, new alum wheels and tires, flip flop seat in rear, black and tan, brush guard, head lights., tail lights and turn signal, windsheild, wanting 4500.00 cart is super clean driven mostly around his development, is this high or low in your opinion, thanks

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
Be nice to know what model it is and what engine it has before guessing about value. Can you get/post a pic of it?

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph

Re: 2004 Ezgo Gas Mph
If it's a txt then probably has the stock 9hp robin engine, I don't think there is a 9hp vanguard. If there is a 9hp vanguard no one in there right mind would spend the extra money it would take to make it work in the cart. not to end up with the same hp as a stock cart. The only way to get that kind of speed out of a 9hp robin is high speed gears and drive on flat ground. Ezgo had some different models that looked like this one and they had 11hp robin engines but someone could have put an ST frontend on a TXT. If they won't tell you what the model or engine is, my guess is they're trying to hide the fact it's a TXT. It looks nice but $4500 can buy a very nice cart with a bigblock nowadays Or even a factory ST with the bigger robin engine. I would look around more and see what else is for sale, I'm betting no one is going to be beating down this guys door trying to buy that cart. With what little I know about this cart I don't think it would sell around here for $4500, maybe $3800 but seems like nothing is selling right now with the economy the way it is.
