What year is your cart? (is the rack&pinion on the front axle weldment)Try to look at the steering box while someone else turns the wheel back and forth. If the play is in the box you probably need a new rack gear. Depending on model some have bushing that ware and cause play. They may need replaced. If the rod coming off the rack moves with the steering wheel movement check your spindle tube bushings for ware

Hey Guys I have a Ezgo workhorse st sport. There is a tag on the battery cable that is were cart was inspected that says 2001. The cart only has 132 hours on it. I looked at the steering and were can I get the rubber bushings that are on the center control thing. All bolts are tight it seems I can take the carter key out and remove the large nut and put a new upper and lower bushing in it . There seems to be a little play there. It looks like it has rackin pinion steering? Thank in advance for your help.

P.S I bought the cart with 82 hours on it .

Look in the service tech manual and see if you can find what your talking about, I've got an idea what it is but I'm not real sure what your talking about. I don't remember a part called "center control thing". Anyway, sound like a bad bushing, you can get parts for that through any ezgo dealer or call one of the site sponsors and see if they have it.
