Default Coil over shocks

I was wondering if anyone has tried this to get a better ride quality from an 87 ezgo marathon. What I was thinking about doing was removing the factory coil spring in the rear and installing a coil over shock like those found on an atv would this work, would I get a better ride. This cart is used around on my farm where it's not exactly smooth

I added coilovers to the back of mine. The ride isn't any easier on you, but it has increased payload and stability.

Marathon,Why did you add coilovers and retain the coils? When I upgrade to coil-overs,I'm getting rid of the factory coils. We just setup a Yamaha G2 with 400ex front-shocks on all 4 corners,I've heard of preople using Suzuki Eiger rear shocks too.Hope this helps.

I left them on for added payload.

Must be stiff!I have a pair of rear-coils from a late 70s' 3-wheel ezgo in mine, they were quite a bit stiffer than the originals, and I can put a few hundred pounds in the back,or hook a heavy trailer to it with no issues.I also have a set of Honda car-coils that fit,and are decent stiffness too.I can't wait to go coil-over,I need travel and ride-quality.
