Default Early 80's Marathon Help

Alright last week I was feeling pretty good, I did a total engine rebuild, bottom end, and top end. Put the motor back into the cart started it up and everything was great. The only problem when I first started it was the micro switch was sticking, I messed around with that and everything seemed fine. I started it back up yesterday, fired right up, pulled forward and it felt sluggish, but it was moving, put it reverse and it did not move at all. Decided to jack it up and I could not get it started again.

I thought it might have been bad gas, drained the tank, got new fuel mixed it 50:1 (engine break in). Pumped the primer bulb, gas came out the over flow, turned it over would not fire. Pulled the spark plug, replaced the spark plug, put it back in, and nothing. Put a spark plug tester on it and had spark. Pulled the fuel pump, turned the motor over and there was air blowing out of the center hole (but not suction). Tired blowing in the fuel pump was hard to blow fuel out took the pump apart everything looked fine. Tired starting the cart with starter fluid, no luck.

Any suggestions? Could the micro switch have something to do with this? The carb, fuel pump, exhaust all replaced last year, new fuel lines, filter, also.

HELP!!!

gas came out the over flow,

Should not do that unless you you used a lot of compressed air.

I used the primer bulb, like those things on a boat motor. Cleaned the carb. I was trying to figure out if the micro switch could have anything to do with this?

Started reading up on the Pulsar. Would this cause the engine to turn over but not start up.

If you have spark, the pulsar is working.
So, you have spark, new plug, but it won't fire? Is that correct?

I replaced the fuel pump, lines, carb, muffler last year. Did a total engine rebuild bottom and top end. It ran for a while then got sluggish, ran worse in reverse then won't start. Took off gas line from pump, gas came out not a lot when engine was turned over, took fuel pump off, put finger over center hole, air blew out, but did not suck in, took apart the fuel pump everything looked alright, took carb apart cleaned it. Drained gas tank mixed new tank, 50:1 for break in. Then moved over to spark, put a spark plug tester on it sparked, changed plug. Sprayed starter fluid in carb nothing. I am stumped. Seems like it has to be something stupid.

My buddy said the spark look weak, tried a coil from an atv spark was brighter, but still not difference.

I am not sure if the pulsar is off, if the igniter is bad, if there is a bad ground, or if the micro switch at the pedal has something to do with it. Reason for the micro switch is when I first turned it on the switch was sticking on, played with plunger it worked fine.

Camping season is right around the corner and I want my cart running again!!!!

Do you know how much compression you have?
How long did it run after the rebuild? Did it run good at first, then get sluggish?
If you are getting spark, the microswitch is working.

I haven't check the compression. It ran good on engine stands, drove it around garage seemed ok. I then adjusted brake cable, put it down drove it out to test brakes it was going slow at top end, then sluggish in reverse, like the clutch was not engaged, jacked it up and would not start.

I will check compression. It will irritate me to no end if it is the seals.

When you installed the crank seals, did you put oil on the crankshaft and seal lips?

Took it to a machine shop. Not sure if they did or did not.
