Gas electrical problem
so I wanted to start up the golf cart and check some stuff over before I start disassembling to rebuilt it . But I notice my battery was fried it was old I went to town and got a commercial battery because I usually have problems with it dying and I have the space the new battery is 1100 cranking amps a lot more thn the old one but my starter will In gauge but doesn't seem to have enough power to turn it over enough to start . I have disconnected the foot pedal igniting when I bought it and hooked a switch up so I can start I up and then turn the starter off because before it would constantly have power going to the starter . I have the 295cc believe it's a 92 or 93 could it be a poor connection or tht main coil pack that is direct to the pos on battery Or my starter could need a rebuild any help would be great thanks

Re: Gas electrical problem
Do a cleaning of the grounds from the battery to the frame and engine block. If you have a weak ground you will get slow starter. Also make sure that the neg and pos connectors are letting electrical flow out good. I had my cart act funny and found that the neg connector was bad and I had weak ground in the wire right after the connection.
If that does not do it, check for good connections to starter for solid 12 volts from reg. This would be a first and simple check to start but you may have brush problems in the starter also but try all else before. |

Re: Gas electrical problem
so I cleaned all wires took the belt off the starter and let it run it works great now turns over engine good but I have lost spark to both plugs I have power coming from the red wire to the coil and I have power coming out of the white wire going back to the ignitor , but while I was cleaning wires I noticed that the green wire coming from the ignitor going to the starter was broken but was the coil had spark at that time so I connected it and now it doesn't have spark I cut the wire still no spark any help appreciated
