1998 ez go governor issues
I have 1998 ez go. I adjusted the governor by tightening the screw all the way. The spring is tight. It takes off like a bat out of hell, but after take off it quickly goes much slower. It goes even slower than it did before after take off. I'm not looking to race, but i would like a little more speed. Why is it so slow after take off when i adjusted the governor and how can i fix it?

Re: 1998 ez go governor issues
Have you tried unhooking it completely? Lots of guys run the older 2 strokes with the governor removed because, as I have been told, they won't make enough power to really hurt themselves. In fact lots of the old carts had the governors removed years ago. Just using common sense and good judgement should keep the revs in the safe zone.
