Default 1989ezgo, to much gas

Started loosing power. Now will barely fire, fuel pump good, cleaned carb, new plug, good spark. Checked Reeds, looked good. If I pinch fuel line it will start to pick up speed? carb or what? Thanks

Float setting too high? Possibly a hole in the float? Also double check to make sure the diaphragm in the bottom of the fuel pump isn't torn.

It's your bottom diaphragm in your fuel pump, it will still pump gas fine and makes you think there is nothing wrong with it, but it's also pumping gas into your crank case. I had the same problem yesterday with mine...
If you pinch the line off between the tank and pump I bet it will run but if you pinch the line off between the pump and carb, it won't run.... Right?

If this in fact turns out to be your problem, they should make this a sticky

That was the problem with mine last fall. I did all kinds of research on possible problems, and never saw it mentioned. I followed a lot of dead ends while trouble shooting, and found mine by accident.

I had the pump out diaphram looked fine. have not tried to pinch off other line . carb is off right now. was also told that if float needle has ring around the tip it will not shut off. mine does. may put carb back on and try pinch first.

With the carb bowl off, hold the carb upside down...
The float tab should be resting on the needle and the flat bottom surface of the float should be sitting level (horizontal)
With it held like this try to blow (with mouth) into the gas inlet tube... You shouldn't be able to blow into it if it's working
