Default TXT Body on a Marathon Cart

I have a 1986 gas marathon and would like to put a TXT plastic body on it. Has anyone done this and exactly what is involved. I have put a TXT body on a 1995 Medalist. Would this be similar?

There's a little bit of cutting and grinding/shaping to do, but it's pretty simple and can be done in an afternoon ... The rear body will sit a hair high almost no matter what, but it's negligible at best (You can structurally take some chances and make it sit perfect but that's YOUR risk and/or decision). The cowl is very VERY easy, and if Your rear body is in decent shape, You could always look at just swapping the front as an easy out

Thank You!!! This eases me quite a bit as I plan to buy a $500 body already painted and wanted to make sure this would work before purchasing it. I am going to strip the cart to the frame and start there so I should be able to make adjustments before installing new body.

see if You can scare up Pachanga here on the forums - he has done it too and would prob be able to give You better pointers on the rear body part of it ... I'm going to dig and see if I have pics from my swap handy, once You get the gist of where to cut on the front "tray" and the side supports for the cowl it goes really fast (and pics would help) - fingers crossed I can find 'em

I was hoping those pics would get posted BCM. I'm contemplating putting a TXT cowl on my Marathon. I already have the cowl. Can't find any detailed info on doing the swap. No disrespect to BGW intended but the search engine this site uses is a little frustrating at times.

I have google in my tool bar and click the drop box to the right of search,
then "more", then "search site"

Thx StoveBolt but I tried that. The cowl swap thread I'm looking for still didn't come up even with Google. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question or something. I'm using 'front cowl Marathon TXT swap', and variations on that. I did find BrewCityMusic's thread but not Pachango90's. I think I'll just go ahead and pull the Marathon cowl off and see how it goes from there. But first I have to fix the TXT cowl. It has a 1" crack on the right side lip. I don't want to hack up my Marathon if I can't repair the cowl crack properly (as in a long term permanent fix).

I ran into an issue with the plastic cowl and rivets that I wasn't expecting. Generating too much heat drilling the rivets will melt the plastic around the rivet heads. Seems pretty obvious ..in hindsight

When I did mine (which I believe was pictured in the thread) I actually cut off the rivet tabs on the inside lip of the cowl and bought some vinyl edging to dress it up (the stuff I bought was actually the vinyl edging that they put on the openings of helmets) - looked great, easy and cheap too
