Default 295 rebuild question

Hello Everyone, I recently finished my rebuild on my robin 295 in my 98 ezgo. The motor ran fine for about a day and now I have a slight ticking/light knocking from the engine housing. I rebuild the motor with the help of a mechanic and followed the manual someone else posted on here. It is properly oiled and all oil passages in the crank case are clear. The knock isnt a deep knock like it was doing before when the push rode came loose, its a ticking noise. It speeds up when running and slows down upon stopping. My other cart makes a similiar noise when the shift cable doesnt fully engage the rear end, but stops upon catching the right forward reverse gear. This cart does it even in gear so I know thats not the problem. Is it possible for the springs in the clutch to make such a noise? Or something in the rear end. It doesnt sound like an internal motor knock. Any help/info is appreciated. Thanks everyone!!

May sound odd, but check to see if your spark plugs are properly snugged up and plug wires on tight - I had a friend who had a gas ezgo that was ticking and he had a loose plug that was still providing spark to the cylinder (not missing) but was also shorting to the side of the head making a rather loud ticking noise. If that checks out, run the engine in a dark environment and watch for sparking along the ignition path......bad wire, etc.

Check valve clearance. Maybe one is loose or clearance too big
