Re: Carb swap
the carbs are pretty much the same, the 350 carb uses a bigger jet but it does not make a difference that you would feel. a after market air filter and exhaust will do a little, with a clutch spring, head work and cam you will start to feel it.

Re: Carb swap
Hello Skot,
It only makes sense with other measurements like higher revs, compression and other tuning. When you go to far, read to big, the engine will not pick up smooth to higher revs. Normally on mine there is a 25 mm carb with a ventury of 20mm. I get more than 8500 revs and on tracks with short straights and sharp curves it is the best. A bigger carb (30 /25 ) gives more power for higher regions, but it spits and bogs from stationary revs 1700 to about 4000 when i get the gas open at once. The airspeed in the ventury is to litle at these revs, coused by the carb being to big 80% of the time i drive full throttle and when i'm driving, at least above 4500 Like Pizzamaker says, there is more to get from finetuning in the first place and other tuning first. When you get a open exhaust and KN filter, you also have to get a bigger sproeier? ( opening down in the carb where the fuel comes in the ventury) When your plugs are dark / coffeebrown, the airmixture is about right. White to lean and black to fat Benno |

Re: Carb swap
You're not going to find any noticeable anything from stock carb swaps...
