S/G removel
I'm the one that had the messed up exhaust stud. I noticed the S/G was crocked on the mount. Closer inspection I found the nut on the through bolt is missing and the holes in the S/G where the bolt goes has nearly wore plumb through. I couldn't remove the bolt so I took the whole engine mount off so I can get a good hit at it. No good! I am afraid to heat it because it is so close to the S/G I'm worried I'll get it too hot. I think I'm going to cut it to remove the S/G then I can heat it good I remove the rest of it. Looks like I'll have to cut a little of what the bolt goes through but I suppose I can use washers to make up for that.
Any better ideas? OK I did a search and found that probably will have to cut the whole thing out and replace the sleeve with a piece of pipe. Should have have done search before the posting the question. Sorry |
