The Technician's repair and service manual (see sticky threads) will tell you the proper way to do a compression test and how to interpret the results.

Re: greetings folks ez-go txt 1997
okay folks...six inch lift...done...22 in tires on 8 inch rims...done....new 41 inch belt done...compression check...done...has 167 driver side - 155 pass side....then 190 on both with a bit of oil in cylinder per manual instructions....and still runs kinda doggy...does the belt need to wear in? seems like it should be going a bit more torquey.....what are the pros opinions?
