Re: Swap oil mix
I'm guessing You have an older 2-stroke Marathon with the oil injection, and if so, it's simple. Pull the oiling system (tank, lines, etc), and where the banjo fitting is on the intake, take a metric bolt (m6 I believe) and replace the banjo fitting (you're basically just plugging the intake hole, a little sealant or Loctite will help ensure You have no air leaks) ...
Dump the old gas, and mix the new at 128:1 (1oz 2-stroke oil per gallon of gasoline) It's up to You if You want to actually remove the pump, etc from the engine - most do just to clean things up a bit. |

Re: Swap oil mix
If you have gas in the cart, figure out how much, add 1oz. per gallon, then shake the cart to mix it,or even stir thru the gas-neck with a stick or similar.Otherwise, you can mix fresh fuel, drain the tank, and refill with fresh mix.The line from the oil-tank to the carb needs to be unhooked, and capped at the carb-port.Then unhook and remove the injection-pump,its mounted to the flywheel-cover,and is driven off the end of the crankshaft and remove the oil-tank.Hope this helps.

Re: Swap oil mix
I was going to say the same thing the first 2 guys said, but then thought about it for a minute.
You have a line, filter, pump, and float bowl full of straight gas. That all needs to be drained. Another option would be to mix your gas, and run it for a little bit before disconnecting the oiler. |

Re: Swap oil mix
Oh yeah, I forgot - shake the cart thoroughly, hahahahahaha :)
Seriously though, it's up to You if You want to drain everything - I've swapped out at least a dozen or more without doing it with no Ill results - a few tablespoons of raw gas won't damage anything, especially on a 30yr-old cart that has been likely over-fogging itself for at least a decade - in a "safety first" world, go ahead and do it - but if it's too late and You've already unhooked stuff don't sweat it |
