Default Hyundai (Salisbury) Clutch issue

Hi all,

I've recently finished up clone swap out in my Hyundai cart. I used the stock clutch (i believe it is the Salisbury 780) in the swap with the straight-taper shaft adapter. I'm not using the starter/generator as the mounting brackets are not even close and I really want the engine to idle.

Here's my problem. My engine will not idle low enough to keep the clutch from engaging. I've turned the idle screw down all the way. The engine will die out before the clutch disengages. This means that I can't shift gears while the engine is idling.

Is there adjustments to be made to the clutch by the way of springs/weights or should i just go with a higher engagement rpm clutch? If a different clutch, which one would be the best in my application. I think the belt is a 1" top width belt and I'm using the stock driven pulley. On Comet's website, the Duster 94C looks good and has some adjustments, but it has a different belt width. I'd have to change the driven pulley then as well.

What's your suggestions?

What did you have to do to hook up the two throttle cables

I'm telling you right now the stock clutch will not work if you want the engine to idle. The engine will not idle low enough to keep the clutch from engaging.

That's basically the point where I'm at right now. I need to get a different clutch. I've tried to contact Carts Parts Plus but they won't return my email. I'm in Canada so phoning them is out. I would like to use the stock driven pulley but I need a primary clutch that will work with a 1" belt. Most I've seen use a 7/8" or 1 3/16" belt. I need a engagement of roughly 1500 -1700rpm to work the way I want.

As for the pedal I just used one of the stock brackets and bolted it to the engine to hold the throttle cable. The return spring and arm was already on the engine when I bought it. As far as the choke, there is no way of connecting it to the cable. I've decided to just have to pop the seat open when I need to start it with the choke. I plan to relocate the starter key to the original spot once I get things ironed out how its going to work.
