Opinions of Yamaha G2

I'm looking for a gas cart to serve as the base of art car (think small parade float). I already have an Melex electric but I'm planning to use my art car at a very isolated event in the desert and I've learned that gas carts make the preferred base so you don't have to worry about charging.

My plan is to make it a four seater and the new body I build is required to modify the cart so drastically that you can't tell what the base vehicle was...this will add more weight.

I've got a line on a 1990 Yamaha G2 and I'm looking for input from experienced cart owners.
Are they considered a reliable cart?
Any known issues or things to look out for?
Given that I plan to add quite a bit of weight, any concerns about the base chassis of a Yamaha over other manufacturers?
