I have the same problem. I bought a new switch but am not sure what the wires are for.

This sounds like a joke but it isn't.... I cannot find the fuse box!

Have you tried contacting EZGO for a schematic? They should also be able to tell you where the fuse box is located. But, you are going to need the year and model of your EZGO before you call.

You should also have taken a picture of the back side of the original switch with your cell phone BEFORE removing the wires from it, or made a list/diagram of where they were connected.

If you connect wires direct to the battery make sure that you at least put an inline fuse
in the wire with a fuse size about 20% higher than the load, or you may someday burn up your cart.

Then you need a schematic from EZGO for your model. The wires should be different colors and noted on the schematic. The back side of every ignition switch that I've seen for these has the terminal function molded into the plastic next to each terminal of the switch. If I were doing this I would also trace each wire to be certain that it goes to where the schematic says it does. A continuity tester (basically a battery and a light bulb in series) or a VOM on low ohms scale, is easy to use and can do this. Once you are certain where each wire comes from, it can be placed in the appropriate position on the switch. When no more wires need to be traced and connected, double check your work, and then install the switch, grit your teeth and turn it on. Then pat yourself on the back for doing a great job.

This may help...

You may have to double check the location of the terminals to what they do, compared to your original.

I found this out looking for a switch for my Cushman (another fine Textron product). You can also tell if it's a marine ignition switch because with the key inserted, you can push the ignition switch in - this is used for initialize the "choking" solenoid on outboards.

Doing a web search on that EZ-GO part number I did find other suppliers with this switch listed - their availability and of course, the higher EZ-GO cost may be something to consider.

Good Luck!
