Default Putting a 16 HP Briggs in my Hyundai

I have a Hyundai cart that had the Suzuki 8.5 in it. It ran good but smoked bad so I decided to swap out the motor. I found a Briggs 16 twin complete and runs great for $50.00. Couldn't pass it up. Well I have got started on my Hyundai cart. I took the old motor out. Did a test fit to see what I needed. Then I took out the engine cradle and cut the two metal bands that stuck up at the back. I test fitted the motor again and had to cut off the old bracket that held the air filter. Had to make new mounts to fasten the motor to the cradle. Had to make it 1" tall so the motor would clear the mounts that hold the cradle to the frame. After test fitting the motor with the clutch one more time I ordered my shaft adapter. Waiting on that before I install the motor and order a lift kit. I'm hoping a 4" lift will be enough to clear the body. I also won't have to cut down the shaft because it's already the recommended length. So far so good. I'll keep you updated so if you have a Hyundai cart it might help you. I've also posted on the Big block talk board with pics.

Which lift kit did you order for the Hyundai? Ive heard the g2 g9 for Yamahas kits will work and the cradle sold at cpp will work also, but ive never had confirmation.

I put a 16hp clone in my Hyundai. I didn't have to do much modifying to get it to fit. I did do some trimming on the engine cradle and drilled new holes to get the motor to sit in it just right. I will say it was still VERY tight on air cleaner and muffler clearance using the stuff that came on the motor. I ended up extending the muffler by cutting the original hyundai exhaust header pipe into a couple of pieces and welding them back together and welding it to the muffler. I put the g2-g9 4" economy lift (LKT_YA2_008-G) on mine and had zero issues with any clearance after that. The kit bolted right up without a problem. I am running 20x10x10 all terrain tires on 10x7 wheels with a 3+4 offset and they fit perfectly.
