18hp omc centrifugal clutch
I just purchased a 1983 Cushman Truckster. It has the omc 18hp with the centrifugal clutch. I have read other posts where people removed it and just kept the standard manual clutch. Can someone please explain how this is done? I don’t like how much noise the centrifugal clutch makes while at idle and I just want to remove it completely and stick with the standard manual clutch. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 18hp omc centrifugal clutch
It was a great experiment that did not work. You will need a Clutch mounting plate is all. Just make sure it is for a air cooled model as the water cooled model has a smaller pilot bearing hole. It is probably a 898531 0r 533 -8310 truckster. Turfspray@aol.com if you need more info.
