Please Tell Me What I'm Looking At.
I need help identifying what is what here. I'm assuming the empty hole is for a keyed switch? I think to the left of the hole is what's left of a manual choke? On the bottom my best guess would be headlight switch? Can anyone tell me if I'm right or correct me if I'm wrong? Also, I found a replacement keyswitch on Golf Cart Care.com but it's $90. It's a two position and looks to only have two terminals on the back. Can anyone tell me if just a standard riding lawnmower replacement would work. Farm & Fleet has them for $15 I think they are two position with 4 terminals...but you just don't wire what you need correct? I'm horrible with electronics. |

The one on the left seems to be a choke. The switch is or can be just an ignition on/off switch. Mine is a two position I bought for $5.00 and only use one position. Check your wiring diagram for what you need to switch. My 76 just needed ignition.

Re: Please Tell Me What I'm Looking At.
I have a wiring diagram I saved off one of the websites but have alot of trouble trying to understand it. I was looking for one where parts are labelled and color coded but I have too high of expectations. LOL.
Also, thankyou for the response. I will most likely go get the cheap keyed switch then and a new toggle for what I think is a headlight switch (headlight is missing but holes on front seem to be for that. Also, I have to track down a manual choke. |

Keep it simple key switch and chock cable at Farm Supply Or a lawnmower shop? Just use the generic stuff, there is nothing mysterious involved there.

Yeah. I went to Farm & Fleet but they rearranged the small engine dept again so I couldn't find the choke parkts. I have to go back and get the keyed switch. I would just use a standard toggle switch but I want a little more security. Granted the cheap keyed switches can be uses with a screwdriver or any key really. Unless you get a better made one than the generic Indak brand. I was also thinking of a backlit headlight switch. I'm going to install tail lights as well off that switch.

Re: Please Tell Me What I'm Looking At.
I got 4 oval red marker lights and two in amber from a Mazda 626 that I scrapped. I'm going to put two red on the bottom in the back like you have and two in the back on the sides of the box. and two amber on the sides in the front. I'll dig them out and snap a pic.
On a side note. I found a choke cable from a 40's to 50's era Chevy truck that I'm buying on ebay. It's sweet. |
