Best Cart To Buy
I am looking into purchasing a golf cart for my property/driving around the neighborhood. I want to spend around $1500 or so, but want to get the best bang for my buck. What in your guys opinions is the best cart to buy (club car ez go, yamaha). I want a cart that has the most power and speed without doing major mods. What do you guys recomend? Thanks

Re: Best Cart To Buy
Honestly - You need to double your budget. $1,500.00 for a gasser isn't going to buy much...

Ok, if I were to have $3000 to spend, what would be the best cart?

Re: Best Cart To Buy
All depends on which dealership you want to deal with and what is available in your area. Some areas have more EZGO's, others may have more Yamaha's or Club Cars. They are all good potential carts - but also realize that many used gas can be worn out or be in need of clutches / belts / brakes / etc. Buy a compression guage and have it ready for any cart you look at. Take your time, educate yourself with all the knowledge available here. Everyone has their "favorite" brand. My suggestion would be to learn a little, get some choices (with pictures) and post them here

Re: Best Cart To Buy
When I bought mine last fall my price range was approx $1000 and there were lots to look at. They seemed to be mostly approx 15 years old. Some were obviously in better shape than others and some were just junk. I narrowed it down to a Yamaha(which I bought) and an ezgo. Both seemed to be in nice shape and ran well but I liked the style of the Yamaha better. Once I bought the cart and started to take it apart to paint it turned out to be ALMOST like new underneath. No rust(despite being in Wash state) or dings.
From looking at CL ads it appears to me as though the stuff under $1000 will require a LOT of work but above that I think you can get something decent. Of course the newer you go the more it will cost. |

Re: Best Cart To Buy
Don't buy a ParCar. Unwieldy steering mechanism. Yamaha shocks are expensive compared to EZGOs.
Which one is the best? Depends on where you want to use the cart. Play golf? Yamaha, EZGO and Clubcar, in that order, as far as I am concerned, are the best. Off-roading? Workhorse will do. |
