Default Harley Non Start When Hot

I have a older Harley Davidson. Not sure the year but its a 3 wheel cart. The problem is it starts and runs fine when its cold, when it gets hot it won't crank over unless you jump it. After you jump it, it runs fine.

The battery is new. Any Ideas.

Thx
Scott

Could be the starter, heat soak will cause it to need extra amps (jump) to turn the engine. Happens a lot with old muscle cars with headers, the starter gets hot just being near the engine and won't start unless it is cooled off. Easy check, take a gallon ziploc bag full of ice and put it on the starter after you have run for a while, if the bag melts, your starter is getting too hot to start the motor!
