Default comet rear axle help

well got a noland utility cart im going to be lifting soon, been driving it around the property to make sure everything is ok before i tear it down and lost reverse.it is in the axle itself-i have checked everything concerning the shifter already.earlier today i pulled the rear axle out so i could tear it down and see whats wrong, but cant seem to pull the shafts from the housing.i pulled the bolts at the center housing out and the tubes rotate but wont come out of the center.it uses a comet industries axle, not sure if thats a common rear or used in anything else? trying to find info about a noland is impossible..and they were made 25 miles from me! anyone got a diagram of how these axles come apart?

not finding much info about it...gonna try and get it apart today,if i cant fix it im thinking of hacking up a kawasaki lakota 300cc ute quad i have for the engine and swingarm.i have a yamaha warrior that im cutting the front suspension out of to use already.i dont really want to cut up a good running semi auto quad though, dont think my family will like that much...everything else i have is clutch sport quads.

got it apart today, needed a lil persuasion for the axle shafts to come out.looks like there is a planetery setup that makes reverse work, gonna pull that apart in a lil bit to see if its fixable.if not,i guess i have forward and neutral only.i wanted to tear it down to weld the spider gears and flip the axle tubes so it mounts below the cradle for more lift and ground clearance.looks like a nice stout gearbox,so the 13hp engine i have sitting may make its way into it soon.uploading pics now to photobucket...but dial up takes forever

I really shoulda read that before posting it. Didn't mean it quite like that. It's strong looking. Yeah pretty much keeping quiet about your stout rearend now. Open mouth insert foot.

haha i almost typed that myself when i was describing it!!
the chain driven sprocket has some sort of gearing setup in it to reverse direction.hopefully its fixable,if not it will be ok,just no reverse.
i just did a bunch of measuring and it seems the warrior front suspension will work perfectly.same exact width as whats on there now.probably end up with about 6" of lift by doing this too!

the bad thing is its only a 3-1 gear ratio in the rear..that coupled with a very weak spring in the driven clutch makes it a dog.if i can figure out how to replace the spring it should wake it up a bit...but it is only a 8hp engine for now.
