Default Honda GX670 w/ Denso starter blowing fuse

Hi,
I recently purchased a modified 2006 Club Car with a Honda GX670 engine. There are 2 -10A fuses located by the Denso DDWD8 Starter, one of which keeps blowing.

Any idea as to why the fuse is blowing? Are 10A fuses large enough?

Thank you,
Michael

Are the connections clean and tight ? I would double check them. I have a gx620 sitting on my welding table . I will go check and see if it has a fuse .

No fuse on mine. But that doesn`t mean it should not have one.

Thanks for the reply.

If you have a pull starter on yours, there probably isn't a fuse. if it has a electric starter with a built in starter switch there is probably one right behind the switch.

Mine are located back by the starter and there are 2 - see picture.

Spent a lot of time online yesterday researching the GX670 and everything I read refers to a 20A charging system & using a 25A fuse in that spot.

I'm beginning to believe the 10A is too small which is why the fuse is blowing & the cart is not charging. The owners manual states a 25A fuse should be in that spot. Weird thing is the owners manual shows 1 fuse and I have 2.

Even though the previous owner swears it worked fine with the 10A I'm tempted to pop a 25A in there and see what happens.

at 25mph I'm running approx 3600 rpm.

I replaced the 10A fuse this morning that was blowing with a 25A. The 2nd fuse was also a 10A but left that one alone. Took the cart for a bunch of test runs and it seems to be doing fine. Both fuses have not blown (yet) & the cart seems to be charging.

Going to keep a close eye on it but looking good so far

I have a Honda gx670 in my 2001 ezgo. I have a 25A fuse between voltage regulator and batt..basic its the charging circuit, start switch, fuel solnoid, etc, which comes with the honda harness. Your other fuse would be for your cart system, which would be headlights, tail lts, stop lts, radio, and any other. 10A would not be eough for headlights.

If you talked to the previous owner and he didn't have any problems with it, I would look for a short somewhere before I upped the amperage on the fuse. Otherwise, I also have a gx620 with a 25 amp fuse. But did you say it had 2-10,s?

Yeah, I already replaced the one that was blowing with a 25A. The cart is running fine & charging now.

We were discussing the 2nd 10A fuse when you joined the conversation. Since the 2nd 10A has not blown yet, I'll probably just let it be.

Checked for shorts & couldn't find anything. If there is one, that 25A will probably blow too I'm guessing.

So far so good...
