Need help with a 8.5 suzuki motor

Have a 8.5 suzuki motor the problem is that the gas went into the oil. Had a guy tell me that the cause is either a bad fuel pump or the carb. My question is he right or is there another possible problem or soloution? Thanks for any imput

welcome to the forum ,, My bet would be on the fuel pump , being a 4 cycle engine the only connect the carb would have with the oil in the bottom of the block would be through the valve train . ,, If you have a 8.5 suzuki and have heard it run you are one of the VERY FEW that have . There are good engines and bad engines and then at the bottom of the stairs under the bad ones is the suzuki ,( my opinion ) I had to put a big block in my Hyundai .

Yep changed the fuel pump and its running like a top took it out today drove it to the golf course (about 3 miles from the house) played eighteen holes and drove it back home with no problems at all except for needing tie rods really bad.

I also have a Hyundai cart with the same Suzuki engine. I had to replace the head gasket and now it won't go beyond idle speed. I have checked everything out and found I need an ignition module. Does anyone have one? Thanks.
