Kohler K241 Solenoid and Regulator
Work continues on my 1967 Cushman Golfster Trophy. This week I'm spending time learning about the electrical system.
The voltage regulator is dented, all kinds of rusted, heavy and just ugly. So I found a replacement http://www.ebay.com/itm/271079124375 (also available on amazon). I've verified through a couple of websites that this is compatible with the K241. The solenoid is presenting some problems, however. I can't find any part numbers for this thing. There aren't any markings on the outside, nor any brand markings. This site (http://www.usautoelectric.com/special-_-offers/) has a ton listed. For instance, this model: http://www.usautoelectric.com/store-...097949072.html But I'm unsure of what I can use to replace the old one. The housing on the old one has rusted beyond repair, and I'd really like to replace it. Any suggestions, info, etc? Thanks! |

Re: Kohler K241 Solenoid and Regulator
Those are pretty standard, but you need to verify the voltage that will be going across the two small terminals when it's activated. These come with several different coil voltages and you will need the one with the correct voltage for your cart. The one you have picked is a 12 volt. If you can test your circuit with power it should be easy to measure the voltage between the two small terminals, or if you can follow a schematic or wiring diagram for your cart you should be able to determine which voltage it should be. Other than the coil voltage, any one of these that are the same in appearance, size and terminal positions should work for you. Just buy the one with the correct coil voltage.
