Cool Fuel pump

I am putting a CCW-440/21 motor in a 91 club car any ideas as to what fuel pump I should use?

Not sure what your motor is, but I have had great results using an automotive electric fuel pump. They're available from the auto parts stores, are easy to mount and hook up, and are self regulating for constant fuel pressure. Wiring is a breeze. You connect the red wire to the switched hot wire coming from the key switch and the black wire to a frame ground connection. A fuel filter needs to be between the tank and the inlet to the pump and the fuel pump should be mounted at about the same height as the tank bottom for best results. The electric fuel pump that I bought for my Cushman Truckster came from O Riley Auto Parts and sold for $79.95.

Thanks Charley.....are the fuel pumps that are generally on a golf cart vacuum?
the motor I am putting in is out of a JDX8 snowmobile. Is rated at 40hp. so if I get the gas right I should be good to go.

I don't know much about golf carts. I found a Cushman Truckster about 2 years ago and have been restoring it. I have re-built many small engines of various types and sizes so am quite comfortable doing this. In fact, I have a second OMC 22 hp engine from another truckster that I'm re-building to eventually replace the one in my truckster. I'll then re-build that one and keep it as a spare.

The OMC engines used in the Cushman Trucksters have a mechanical fuel pump, but replacement mechanical pumps for these engines are becoming expensive, if you can even find one in good condition. It's much easier and cheaper to just plug the hole in the block where the mechanical pump was mounted and then install an electric fuel pump. In my opinion, the engines run better with electric pumps anyway. I've done this in farm tractors and commercial lawn equipment with good success too.

Vacuum operated fuel pumps run on the vacuum pulses of the engine crankcase. If it is a vacuum operated fuel pump you will find a rubber line running from the fuel pump to somewhere on the engine crank case or to a connection on or near the carburetor. As the engine wears the vacuum level drops and can sometimes drop low enough that a vacuum fuel pump will not move enough fuel to keep up with the needs of the engine.

A mechanical fuel pump has an arm that reaches into the engine crank case and is pushed up and down by a cam lobe either on the distributor shaft or on the engine's main cam shaft with each revolution of the engine. When mechanical fuel pumps get older their rubber diaphrams crack and fuel is leaked into the engine crank case. This will dilute the oil and eventually destroy the engine.
