Buying first gas cart decisions
Interested in buying my first cart. Im wanting a gas model but not sure if one brand is that much better than the other. I will be using it to cruise the neighborhood and my property with my wife and little girl. Im a bit of a gear head so performance modifications will be done in the future. Some info from some of you guys with experience is greatly appreciated in what I should look for and what brand of cart is generally better. Thanks

Re: Buying first gas cart decisions
I would buy a Yamaha over any other brand but that's just my $0.02. I'm sure they're are people on here that would differ but go check out the Yamaha G8 Club threads or Boke's G9 thread. I have a 1990 Yamaha G8 bone stock and it still runs like new...that says a lot about a Yamaha...24 years old and still going strong.
Oh and I did have a 1987 EZGO sparky (electric) and I hated it. |

Stick with any of the big 3 , and you won't be unhappy. We are all kind of brand specific. I like my club car.
Cruise around the gas forums and do some reading , that's what I did and I was teetering between Yam. and Club ,just happened to find the club . Now I am a Club Car Guy. |

A lot of your choices may be decided partially by where you live. I live in aiken SC about 20 minutes from Club Car and EZ-Go's headquarters so they are plentiful around here. Yamaha not so much.

From looks I want the club car precedent, anybody have any direct pros and cons to this model. I will be going to houston at the end of the month and a cart will be coming home with me..

Con- I like the look of the older DS more. Something about that plastic bumper wrapping around the entire front just doesn't sit well with me. |
