Default Front Oil / Crank Seal

Going to be replacing the seals on my cart. Is it better to tap the front one on with a hammer or press it in with a press?

I did this to another cart last year and the front seal popped out during use. I can't recall now which method I used for success and would rather not repeat last year's fiasco.
