Gov. plate
Is it necessary to have the spring assit. gov. plate installed? I lost the high heat button and don't want a metal on metal thing going on. Plus, when it is off, the cart is quiet. Clatter is gone.

Re: Gov. plate
nope. pull the plate, the spring, and the linkage form the carb..... just keep an eye and ear on it, if she sounds funny, back her off. i just did this to mine, and im basicly baking the unbunrt fuel and oil out of the muffler.

Re: Gov. plate
thanks! I was concerned about having the extra pressure pushing on the prim. clutch. wasn't sure if that helped the clutch engage.

Re: Gov. plate
nope clutch is driven by engine rpm that governor works by rubbing on the clutch, as it went inward/faster, it pushed on the carb butterfly, fighting the cable. or vise versa... its been long night pf doing 3 brake jobs, a windshield, and a oil change.....only thing is keep your ear out... dont run her to long, she might get a bit warm!
