You heard right. That exact same set of points fits other vehicles and two engines that I know of.

230 Chevrolet inline 6 (3.8L) and these are some vehicles:
1973-1979 Chevrolet 3800 (South Africa)
1963–1969 Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu
1965–1968 Checker Marathon
1965 Chevrolet El Camino
1964–1970 Chevrolet Chevy II / Nova
1966 Studebaker Commander, Wagonaire, Daytona and Cruiser (Circa 1966-67) Holden HR (South Africa)
1967 Chevrolet Camaro
1962–1974 Chevrolet 400 Special (Argentina)
1964–1974 Chevrolet 400 Super (Argentina)
1972–1974 Chevrolet 400 Rally Sport (Argentina)
1969 Chevrolet Camaro
1978-1982 Chevrolet Commodore (South Africa)
1968–1971 Chevrolet Opala (Brazil)
1963–1967 Pontiac (fullsize, Canada)

250 Chevrolet inline 6 (4.1L) and these are some vehicles:
1966–1984 Chevrolet (passenger cars to 1979, trucks/vans to 1984)
1968–1974 Chevrolet 400 Super Sport (Argentina)
1972–1974 Chevrolet 400 Rally Sport (Argentina)
1970–1976 Pontiac Firebird
1970 Pontiac Tempest
1970–1976 Pontiac LeMans
1968–1969 Buick Special
1968–1972 Oldsmobile F-85
1975–1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass
1971–1975 Pontiac Ventura
1968–1971 Buick Skylark
1973–1975 Buick Apollo
1967–1979 Chevrolet Camaro
1969–1979 Checker Marathon
1970–1974 Puma GTB (Brazil)
1971–1992 Chevrolet Opala (Brazil)
1973-1982 Chevrolet Commodore (South Africa)[5]
1979-1982 Chevrolet Senator (South Africa)[5]
1979–1994 Chevrolet Veraneio (Brazil)
1988–1992 Puma AMV (Brazil)
1995–1998 Chevrolet Omega A (Brazil)
1998–1999 Chevrolet Tahoe (Argentina)
1998–1999 Chevrolet Silverado - (GMT400) (Brazil)

Here is Autozones part# DR1077MV. I don't promote Autozone. I just kept their part number handy. If you want to shop elsewhere just have them look up one of the above vehicles/engine combos.

The only catch to that is some brands and models may have a terminal design that does not quite fit in the cart engines.

Standard Ignition brand Blue Streak series #DR2240x has so far been a very good quality part that fits both early and later carts. The X is important, it is the premium version. Visually its copper platted and has the lubricating wick. Many of the other formerly good brands if they are even still around seem to have turned to crap.

As noted they fit a lot of engines so they are not usually too hard to find. Basically fit any of the GM inline engines from the 60's and early 70's as well as any others that used a Delco distributor which included a lot of industrial and marine engines like Mercruiser.

Summit Racing has them as does Rock Auto.

yes its a good set of points, needs 2 mods as i recall, need to bend the wire terminal 90 degrees to clear the cover, and th terminal needs the cut a bit deeper. i used it on a 69, and a67. been running for 3 years now, no issues. can get them cheap too, just get te good american made ones, not the chinnese crap.......

I Have a few preferences in point sets and if I can post photos here from Word I will or just give numbers, They are the Delco 108P, BWD A109P or other brands equivalent. I prefer the push on wire connection at the points... Works very well and takes less room!

Another thread jogged my memory about earlier using a different design points. The GM style points were used 71-86. 63-66 was one style (very hard to find), 67-70 was another still around but not cheap, and then the 71-86 which is easy to find only catch being the terminal design.

The 63-66 had the wire attached.
The 67-70 was a 2 screw where the terminal junction stayed on the plate.
The 71-86 was a single screw with a pivot peg

Yes, I also have had points that had a terminal screw so long I had to put the nut toward the inside of the points. Some I had to saw off to fit without a chance of shorting to the case. Some I had to attach the coil wire on first then install the points. That is why I like the push on terminals. I have adapted points and plugs I have had around the shop for 45 years. Improvise Adapt and Overcome!

i went to my local napa i went with the echelin points and condenser for a 1969 nova 6 cylinder. when you look made in mexico. they have the nut like my old points had but some just clip in. either way i can make it work. i bought gasket material for the dust cover to prevent shorting the pepsi box someone cut out previously was about gone
