1966 harley cart flywheel
I have a 1966 Harley cart and I am trying to get the flywheel off but don't have the correct tool to do so does any body know what size (mm) the threaded opening is for the tool ,I know you can us a flat pulling and screw two screws in and hit with a hammer but I am looking for the puller I know it might be imposable because it such an old motor but if any one can help me locate one I would appreciate it.

Re: 1966 harley cart flywheel
i would suggest a big gear puller put tension on the center bolt (crankshaft) and hit it with a hammer NOTE: leave the crankshaft nut on the shaft so you wont flare the thread out. tighten and repeat till it pops off. are you rebuilding? if so you have a rarer one. the 67- 81 are more common.

Tew45 made one years ago. I think that is your puller but not sure. There are more ideas in this thread.

I have never had a problem using a wheel puller for those. Any parts store will have them. Heck, many will even loan you one.

Re: 1966 harley cart flywheel
Thanks guys , yes I am in the process of rebuilding just need to get the flywheel off to get to the crank, I checked and it's about 32 mm but I'm sure Harley made one that no one else made, I ordered a 30 and it's to small I have ordered a 33 (can't fine one in between) and waiting on it, so if it don't work I'll try the wheel puller just afraid to pull the treads out.
