Default mis-matched crank cases

I am assembling an engine with mis-matched crank cases and have turned a steel rod to simulate a crank. There seems to be just a small amount of poor alignment but it might work. (1974 and 1976 HD cart). Has anyone else used mis-matched cases?
Also a forum member asked where I have been since they haven't seen much from me. Well we have so many members that know as much or more than I do most of the questions are answered before I see them. These members are getting too smart for me!

i havent had the mis match problem yet i did learn about not mis matching clutch parts and your starter pulley will grind in the secondary clutch when the rear motor mounts crap out. its been a fun couple of weeks. i do have a 78 engine that will be fun to disassemble since it is full of dirt and rust.

I have also had the motor mounts fail and cause rubbing. Took a while to figure that one.
also if you let the clutch nut get loose it ruins the output shaft and the starter pulley.
