Tilotson mixture screw setting
Where are you guys running the mixture screw on your Tilotson carbs? I just rebuilt mine and am trying to decide if I still have an issue or are just remembering wrong where I had it set.

Where is that document from? I don't remember the Tillotson having more than one screw but am getting older and forgetting more and more every day.

Re: Tilotson mixture screw setting
I found the document online somewhere a few years ago, not sure where. Below is is all 3 pages. Maybe your carb is a different model that what this was wrote for.

3/4 turn open should be about right.

Re: Tilotson mixture screw setting
Hi I'm new to the forum and restoring a 79' hd cart. So far I have replaced the whole fuel system up to the carb. I am having a heck of a time tuning it. I have read all about the H and L needles and are both are turned out 1 1/2 turns for starters. It really acts like it's not getting fuel on the top end. I primed the fuel line by pressuring the fuel tank so we can eliminate that. Could there be something stuck in the carb? It does idle but dogs out when you hit the petal. I have tried adjusting it MANY times and can't seem to get it. I'm at a loss. Should I take the new carb off and go through it?

Re: Tilotson mixture screw setting
The cart I have been playing with with both the tilotson and walbro carbs always seemed to just go flat on the top end.So I added the low pressure fuel pump found in the clone section here. It did not over power the carb as some had feared. The engine would now rev to 6000 rpms plus.BUT be aware I blew the cooling fan apart in short order at these rpms.

Re: Tilotson mixture screw setting
You have 2 adjustments on yours? I have not seen one with 2 screws and the original HD manual does not seem to mention it or am I missing it?
