Need a picture of car. linkage
I have a buddy with what he thinks is a 81 4 wheel HD cart. The carb. linkage looks like it's missing something were the throttle cable hooks up to the carb. PO just put the cable though the lever and bent the cable so it pushes on the throttle lever. Hope this makes sense to somebody and can provide a picture of how it's supposed to work. Thanks

Re: Need a picture of car. linkage
The throttle lever is sprung so with nothing connected it goes to full open. The throttle cable (or governor if its still there) pulls it shut as needed. Foot off the pedal the cable retracts and pulls the throttle lever shut. Foot on the petal it extends and allows throttle to spring open. Sometimes there was a hook bent in the end of the cable to do the pulling. Sometimes its a screw on stopper.

That sounds correct. The lever on the carb. is a slotted oval shape. I just thought it looks a little shade tree , like something is missing and somebody just bent the wire. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to work ? looks a little redneck

Re: Need a picture of car. linkage
The cables don't attach because originally the governor was there too. If the governor 'kicked in' and started pulling the throttle closed the pedal cable cable had to be able to float if you still had your foot hard on it.
