clear picture of governor rod connection
I just purchased a 1976 HD 3 wheel cart this weekend, it has some issues. The first issue is the governor rod is missing and I can not find a clear picture of where the rod connects to the governor. If anyone could post a clear picture I would appreciate it very much. Second: would you recommend I purchase a original design "hook" rod or the new "T" design rod? Third: from the pictures of the rods I have found it looks like both ends of the rods are just straight rod and both ends would need a connector, is this correct? The connector for the pressure plate is there but I do not see any type of connector where the other end of the rod would go. Thanks in advance for help with any of the above information. |

Re: clear picture of governor rod connection
I believe those governors hooked onto a plate that pressed against the primary clutch? To be honest, just about everyone took those off and threw them out. Yours is probably long gone. No need to fret. You don't need it. I tell everyone not to run these carts (any cart for that matter) flat out for anything other than a short burst though.
Not sure about the rod designs. To be honest, I have never seen one of these carts that still had the governor on it. You can download a service manual here and see if has some more detail in it? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/colum...ls-HD-Service/ |
